The Cold Spring Harbor Seafarers Club was founded in 1966 by the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department. In 1972 the organization management was transferred to a group of local residents and continues to serve the Cold Spring Harbor area of North Shore Long Island. The club offers a broad range of boating activities including, recreational fishing, pleasure cruising, competitive fishing and instructional and social events for both fisherman and recreational boaters.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Club promotes and supports safe seamanship and small boat handling among its members. The Club engages in a “good neighbor” policy with area residents and promotes community events and support activities that benefit the local community.<\/p>\n
The Club also works with local governments in the development of environmental policies for the preservation and protection of the natural surroundings.<\/p>\n
